Helm of Smoke-Seer
A helm forged of tarnished bronze, its surface alive with swirling smoke-gray enamel. A smoky opal sits in the brow, rippling with inner light, while the interior is lined with black leather that feels surprisingly warm. Delicate engravings of curling smoke wind around the rim, and a faint azure glow threads along the edges, as if the fog itself is guiding the wearerโs gaze.
Lore
Crafted by the fog-wrights of Thren, the Helm of Smoke-Seer was forged for scouts who must move unseen through plumes and smog. Legends speak of a sentinel who wore such a helm to peer through the fortressโs veiled defenses, guiding a stealthy strike beneath a veil of smoke.
History
The prototype was created by Kitharion, a master smith who learned to set optical lenses within metal while listening to the whispers of the fog. The helm passed through the hands of rangers, watch captains, and airship crews, each adding their own tale of peering through a veil to strike at the heart of battle. It vanished during the Siege of Cinderfall, only to resurface in a distant port market decades later, its shimmer now less shrouded in mystery than in legend.
