Forged by a moon-worshipping order known as the Veilwrights, the Veilward Shield was designed to bend perception as a means of surviving sieges and ambushes. The shield’s magic feeds on the fear of being seen, allowing its bearer to slip from sight the moment danger comes too close.

History

In ages past, a sentinel named Lysara wielded the Veilward during the fall of the city of Duskfall. As a colossal warleader struck, Lysara invoked the shield’s hidden power, vanishing beneath the ward as the blow landed, reappearing moments later to strike from the shadows. Since then, the shield has passed through many hands, always accompanied by whispers of a shield that can hide its bearer in a breath.
