Keen Senses. The creature has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, hearing, or smell.

Smoke and Mirrors. As a bonus action, the kobold can exhale a puff of shimmering smoke. For the next turn, it has half cover (+2 AC) and enemies have disadvantage on attack rolls against it if they can see the source of the smoke. The effect ends at the start of its next turn.

Crystal Shield. When the kobold is hit by a melee attack, it can use its reaction to grant itself a +2 bonus to AC until the start of its next turn as a crackling shield of cave crystal forms around it.

Draconic Insight. The kobold has a keen eye for magic. It gains advantage on Arcana checks to identify magic items and to recall lore about dragons.

Appearance

A scrawny kobold dragon with a compassionate heart and a reverent devotion to spellcasters. It is kind, innocent, and pure of heart, seeking to learn from wizards, sorcerers, and other magic-users. It worships those who wield magic and strives to spread light and knowledge rather than harm. Though physically small and humble, it clings to a hopeful dream of becoming a conduit for knowledge through magic.

Behavior & Origins

In the dank warrens of the Underdark, this kobold presents itself as a devoted worshiper of spellcasters. It carries a simple spellbook and a shard of cave crystal, believing it to be a blessing from benevolent mages. It avoids unnecessary conflict, preferring to study, offer aid, and imitate grand spellcasters from afar. Its feeble Water Splash is used only as a last resort to deter threats, while Mage Hand is employed to retrieve trinkets for its patrons and idols.
