Lore & Description
Appearance
A towering undead archmage wrapped in cracked black ice and shards of a sentient mirror. Its head is a crown of fractured silvery mirrors that refract light into dancing motes that seem to whisper your name. Its phylactery rests within the central shard of the mirror, pulsing with blue-white energy. When it moves, the air smells of cold lilac and the smell of old glass. Its presence warps reflections around it, making staircases appear reversed and windows show alternate versions of the world.
Behavior & Origins
The Mirrorbound Lich was once a powerful archmage who bound their phylactery to a sentient mirror rumored to reflect not just appearances but possible fates. During a catastrophic ritual, the mirror shattered, fusing the lich with its shards. Now the Mirrorbound Lich haunts places of glass and still water, drawing power from reflections and the fear of being seen as weak. It seeks to collect other mirrors to extend its bound realm, trapping intruders within endless corridors of silvered walls. Its strategies rely on misdirection, paralyzing touch, and turning light into necrotic energy, while its bound minions—reflections and glass golems—guard its lair.
