Lore & Description
Appearance
A hulking construct of dark iron and pale crystal, the Restrain Golem stands like a statue until it moves. Its form is braced with two crystalline cores that glow with a cool blue light. When these crystals are intact, the golem's strikes are blunt and forceful, designed to pin enemies in place. If the crystals are removed, heat builds within the golem, and its defenses and speed falter as it struggles to regulate its power. It wields two restricted weapons that seem built to deny freedom: an iron club and a jawlike mechanism that clamps onto limbs. Restrain Golems are relentless in combat, using their restrained grip to pin foes and deny their mobility, then crushing them with follow-up blows.
Behavior & Origins
Restrain Golems were forged as guardians for ancient vaults of weapons and bindings. Their purpose is not to kill, but to immobilize. They seek to limit the movements of intruders, allowing the keepers to adjudicate or punish near-instantly. The crystals within them are a delicate balance of heat and power; removing them invites dangerous overheating that can hamper the guardian itself and lead to self-damage if not managed.
