Cloak of Nightbound Climb
A cloak of midnight-blue cloth woven from night-spun silk, its edges trimmed with silver thread that glimmers like starlight. The clasp holds a pale moonstone that catches the moon’s glow as you move, and the fabric seems to drink in darkness, shifting with the wearer's silhouette.
Lore
Forged by a guild of shadow-walkers during a lunar eclipse, this cloak was meant for the Night Warden who patrolled the city’s tallest spires. It disappeared into the shadows, later appearing in the hands of thieves and bards before finding its way to a hopeful guardian who wishes to scale a fortress’s walls to parley in the dead of night.
History
The cloak’s first wearer was a master thief who could slip along walls unseen, using the cloak to enter and exit guarded towers. It later passed to a diplomat who needed to ascend sheer façades to reach a fortress’s parapet for talks with elusive powers. Each owner treated the cloak as a companion in the dark, until it was placed in a hidden vault to await a new nightbound traveler.
