Shadowrend The blade's edge is forged of black steel etched with silver. It grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. When you hit a target that is in dim light or darkness, the attack deals an extra 1d6 necrotic damage. If the target is a shadow or dwelling in magical darkness, the necrotic damage increases to 2d6.

Shadow Cleave The weapon stores 7 charges and regains all charges at dawn. As an action, you can expend 3 charges to unleash a 15-foot line of shadow energy from you. Each creature in the line must make a saving throw with DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting ability modifier. On a failed save, a creature takes 4d6 necrotic damage and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, it takes half damage and suffers no speed reduction. The line of effect passes through magical darkness and nonmagical shadows as if they were solid for the purpose of this attack, allowing this strike to affect incorporeal or shadowy targets in the line. This ability can be used only while you are wielding Umbral Edge and costs 3 charges per use.
