Umbral Edge
A longsword of tempered black steel, its blade sipping at the edges with a faint, silvery gleam. The fuller runs with a wavering line of gray, like a shadow skimming across light. The hilt is wrapped in dark ash leather, and a small pommel in the shape of an eye seems to watch you as you move, mirroring the world just beyond sight.
Lore
Forged in a workshop that faced a corridor of living darkness, Umbral Edge was tempered to cut not only flesh but the very shadow that clings to the world. Legends say it was blessed by a dawn-lit order who sought to pierce the veil between day and night, granting its wielder the power to discipline what lurks in gloom.
History
Crafted by a master smith known only as Vaenos in a city perched atop a chasm of ceaseless dusk, Umbral Edge passed through many handsโeach bearer testing its strange hunger for light and shadow. It has been wielded against shadow wraiths, night-stalking cults, and tyrants who tried to bathe the world in darkness. Its last known owner vanished after a great confrontation with a forged night, leaving the blade to wait for the next worthy spellcaster who dares to cut the night itself.
