Memoryblade, Rememberer of the Fallen
A greatsword of tempered steel with a black, subtly iridescent core. The blade's edge gleams with a cold, pale light, and its fuller is etched with runes that resemble whispered faces. The grip is wrapped in dark leather, and tiny sigils glow along the guard, shifting subtly as memories are recalled.
Lore
The Memoryblade was forged by a reclusive runemaster who sought to give weapons the humanity of their fallen victims. Upon each life taken by the blade, a fragment of that creature's memory is bound into its blade, leaving behind echoes that manifest as a whispering chorus when the weapon is drawn.
History
Born from a pact between a necromancer and a smith of celestial steel, the blade has changed hands across countless battles. Each owner has sought to harness the memories it stores, either as a wellspring of tactical knowledge or as a cursed reminder of those left behind. Notable wielders include a war-priest of a god of memory and a ruthless mercenary who swore the blade's whispers would never fall silent.
