Lore & Description
Appearance
The Plaguewind is a tall, slender humanoid shrouded in swirling, sickly-green vapors that cling to tattered cloth like a living mist. Its skin bears the pallor of frostbitten air, and its eyes glow with a cold, ember-like light. Its hair wisps and billows as if forever raked by a non-existent wind, and every breath carries a faint, coppery tang of decay. When it moves, the air itself seems to bend around it, and the whisper of rushing wind follows in its wake. In humanoid form, it speaks in a voice that sounds like wind through dead leaves, insinuating, patient, and corrosive to the soul.
Behavior & Origins
Born from a storm that refused to pass, the Plaguewind is a sentient essence of disease and air. It travels by riding thermals and gusts, leaping from one region to another on the backs of cyclones. It seeks to spread its Windborne Pox, a disease that latches onto life like spores in a breeze, inflicting weakness, fever, and a creeping sense of despair. It favors infiltrating communities by taking human form, blending into crowds, and waiting for the right moment to unleash its plagues with a silent, insidious grace. In combat, it relies on swift strikes with bite and claws, while hurling gusts of plague-laden wind to weaken and disorient opponents. Paladins and healers who face it often discover that curing the body is not enoughโthe wind itself must be calmed, and the storm within tamed.
