Appearance

A sinewy silhouette of living shadow, the Umbra Eclipse blends with the night. Its body is slick with darkness that seems to swallow light, with lunar markings across its skin that glow faintly when the moon wanes. Its presence drains illumination; as the sky darkens toward an eclipse, wisps of shadow swirl around it like a cloak.

Legends say the Umbra Eclipse was born from the moment when sun and moon aligned in a rare celestial event, stitching a rift in the veil between worlds. It hunts in the gaps between day and night, surfacing whenever an eclipse blotches the sky. In times of eclipse, brave souls may strike it down with silver, radiant magic, or pure sunlight; but outside eclipse, the creature is effectively untouchable by mortal arms. Some whisper it desires to crown an age where eclipses become permanent, feeding on fear and longing as darkness swallows the land.
