Lore & Description
Appearance
A gleaming suit of plate armor stands where a fallen knight once did. The helm bears a visor that glows with an unblinking light. Inside the helm, a pale, incorporeal presence—the concept of Duty itself—seethes with silent compulsion. The Knight moves with ceremonial precision, each action an echo of an oath being carried out. Cold, unwavering discipline radiates from it, and any who threaten its charge feel the weight of an inexorable obligation pressing down on them.
Behavior & Origins
Once a sworn guardian of a besieged realm, the knight perished in a last stand to defend the innocent. In death or near-death, the concept of Duty itself took form and inhabited the armor, turning a hero into a vessel for an abstract, inexhaustible obligation. It sees treachery and cowardice as defects of the heart and will punish them with ruthless judgment. The Knight seeks to impose order, punish malfeasance, and ensure every action serves a higher oath. It respects discipline above mercy, and some say it will test a party's resolve before offering aid.
