Behavior & Origins

The Whisperwarren is not a single rat, but a hive mind bound by old magic or an ancient disease that fused thousands of rodents into one coherent consciousness. They nest in forgotten cellars, sewer tunnels, and abandoned structures where warmth and food are plentiful. The voice of the nest is a whispered chorus that echoes through walls and cracks, offering to bargain, misdirect, or ambush those who trespass. When threatened, the nest can surge forward as a writhing mass to bite, while its telepathic voice coordinates the assault with terrifying precision.
