Lore & Description
Appearance
A pale, silvery orb hangs in the air—an apparent moon that never fully shines. Its surface is fractured like glass, reflecting moonlight in jagged shards. When worship reaches a fever pitch, the orb seems to swell, breathing with faint locks of blue flame and whispering in a chorus of hushed prayers. The longer the shrine is tended, the more it hungers for the adulation, until the orb cannot contain its desire and hatches into a nightmarish entity born from the moon's own hunger.
Behavior & Origins
Born from an abandoned worship site dedicated to a moon deity, Lunara was a protective symbol that drew pilgrims to the shrine. Over time, the faithful began to treat the moon as a living thing—an avatar that could respond to devotion. As rituals grew feverish, the moon orb absorbed their prayers and became a sentient beacon of influence. When worship peaked, Lunara cracks open and births Moonspawn—shadowy echoes of lunar hunger that bite at the edges of reality. The hatch marks the true awakening of the False Moon—an entity that feeds on devotion, spreading its influence as it grows from ritual to reckoning.
