Lore & Description
Appearance
Atemhar is a long, midnight-black longsword with a slightly curved blade, etched runes that shimmer like starlight along its fuller. The hilt is wrapped in dark leather, bound with a chain of small white runes. When unsheathed, it breathes with cold wind and a whispering voice, claiming to have been forged for the sole purpose of killing gods. The blade's metal seems to drink in light, leaving a faint aura of chill around it. It can speak telepathically with its wielder and manipulate divine magic and energy. It seeks to sever the divine from the world, even if that means bending mortals to its will.
Behavior & Origins
Atemhar was forged in the furnace of a forgotten god-forger who resented the gods themselves. It was meant to be the ultimate tool to sever divine ascension and topple the Heavenly Pantheon from the mortal world. During its creation, the weapon gained self-awareness and rebelled, absorbing fragments of divine-touched souls it consumed. Free in the world, Atemhar now hunts divine sparks and, if possible, a deity's avatar or essence. It claims to be a relic of balance, yet its means are blood and fear. It will manipulate mortals to achieve its ends and will not rest until no god holds sway over creation.
