Lore & Description
Appearance
The Cavernshadow Stalker is a lean, cave-dwelling humanoid whose body is lithe and pale, dressed in dust-streaked leathers. Its silhouette seems to stretch like a living shadow; more unsettling, a second figure—the shadow—slips ahead of it, looms from the walls, or darts along the floor as if it possesses its own will. In darkness, the shadow moves independently, scouting, flanking, and striking while the host remains hidden. The pair hunts in tandem, using the echoes of the cave to disorient prey.
Behavior & Origins
Born in the bowels of a sunless cavern, the Cavernshadow is bound to a sentient shadow that learned to walk apart from its host. The shadow can slip through cracks and crevices or detach briefly to scout, while the living humanoid handles close-quarters ambushes. Adventurers who hear soft, whispering echoes in the tunnels may discover a second, almost imperceptible silhouette gliding along the walls—an omen of a deadly pincer attack.
