Lore & Description
Appearance
A massive siege engine forged of black iron and bronze plates. Its wheels are studded with rune-bronze rivets, and a yawning maw of a viewport glows with greenish light. War-torn banners drag along its flanks; steam vents hiss as the engine breathes with a life of its own. The engine moves with an odd, patient rhythm, like a cataphract statue about to unleash a torrent of iron and fire.
Behavior & Origins
Unlike a mere construct, the Siegewright War Engine is a battlefield spirit's vessel. It was forged during a siege, infused with a war spirit that hungers for victory and revels in destruction. It follows a strict, almost military code, executing commands with cold efficiency. It respects orders, but it will seize control if those orders threaten its own life or the lives of its pilot crew. Adventurers might face it as a siege weapon brought to life on the battlefield: armored, weaponized, and seemingly sentient in its own grim way.
