Lore & Description
Appearance
A Bulette appears as a jagged, armored behemoth with a broad, rounded carapace of gray-brown hide studded with bony plates. Its maw is a voracious, sharklike mouth lined with multiple rows of sharp teeth. Muscular limbs end in massive claws, and its burrowing tail can flick rocks and earth aside with ease. When it moves, the ground shudders; it can burst from the soil with terrifying speed, driving victims into the earth with a crushing bite and relentless claws.
Behavior & Origins
Bulette, known to hunters as the land shark, tunnels beneath the earth and surfaces with explosive force to rend and swallow prey. They stalk civilization from beneath, surfacing in plains and hills where they can engulf entire caravans or camps. Ancient myths speak of bulettes as natural disasters given form, a reminder that some hunger lies just beneath the crust, waiting to break through.
